the word here is CLEAN. clean clean clean! (so much easier said than done, oh i know) clean nails, clean hair, wipe away drool and eye boogers, clean feet (sandals on kids = black feet!). basically, the cleaner the kid, the better the pictures will turn out.

if your child is still in diapers or pull-ups, tuck them in or wear bloomers.

if your child is still of napping age, please make sure they nap before the shoot. take nap times into consideration when booking your session.

It is perfectly okay to bring bribes to a photo shoot – given a stage and being the center of attention, it’s like our kids know exactly when to act their worst. Some cereal, smarties or other candy that won’t stain teeth can go a long way with a cranky kid.

don't let them eat any food that will stain their face, teeth, mouth, hands, or any other body part within 48 hours of the shoot. 48 hours seems like a long time. but seriously, trust me. 48 hours.

wardrobe - for girls, you just can't miss with cute dresses, rompers, dainty little hats, & headbands. for boys, jeans with a polo or button-up works nicely. a t-shirt with a button-up over it can be cute, as well as overalls on the appropriate age & personality. for siblings, the outfits don't have to match perfectly. in fact, it's better if they compliment one another, rather than being an exact match. you can't go wrong with neutral & earth tones, with a few pops of color thrown in. and just as with adults, it's best to avoid any clothing with loud, bright colors or distracting prints or patterns. when in doubt, just choose a solid-colored shirt that compliments your child's eye color.
